Special Meeting to Consider Expulsion of Student

Members Present: Mengelkoch, Benner, S.Plum, Forbes, Haynes, Munson

Others Present: Julie Johnson-Wilborg, Dean of Students, Dan McKeon,
Teacher, Julia Plum, Office manager.

I. Student was found with a knife (large leatherman) in his possession. Student admitted he had the knife and was aware of the knife's presence on campus.

The TrekNorth Policy on weapons as expressed in the student-parent handbook:

" ...any student carrying, bringing, using, or possessing any dangerous or deadly weapon in any school building, on school grounds or at any school sponsored event shall be recommended for expulsion. The following are dangerous weapons: firearms (including air guns and pellet guns--loaded or unloaded, operable or inoperable), firearm facsimiles, fixed blade knife with a blade length of greater than 3 1/2 inches, spring-loaded or pocket knife with a blade of more than three inches, any knife used to threaten harm to others..."

Motion to proceed with explusion proceedings by Munson, Second Forbes.
Vote, passed unanimous.

Motion to Adjourn, Haynes, Sec. Forbes, Passed unanimous.
