Jennifer
Laitala - jennifer@treknorth.org
Jennifer received her B.A. in English (emphasis in Writing)
from State Cloud State University.
She continued her education at Saint Cloud State University
as a graduate student. During the summer she worked as a counselor
at an outdoor education camp for people with disabilities and
during the winter as a teacher’s assistant at a Montessori
School.
In 2002, Jennifer moved to Bemidji. Once in Bemidji,
She worked at a law office writing and preparing legal documents
and spent evenings as a volunteer Production Assistant for
Lakeland News and various KBSU Productions.
Jennifer came onboard as TrekNorth’s Technology Coordinator
in January of 2004.
Jennifer is Certified with Apple as a Help
Desk Specialist and has received Apple training for servers,
networking, PowerSchool (Student Information System), and Adobe
Photoshop. Currently, she is training to become a Certified
AppleCare Technician, an Apple Certified Technical Coordinator
and a Final Cut Pro Trainer.
In addition, she also does web design and maintenance for
a couple local area businesses and Mac & PC consulting
and troubleshooting.
Jennifer is not usually too far away from a camera whether
still or video, film or digital. During the winter months,
she’s
the photographer at Buena Vista Ski Area and the summer months
she works on her own or freelance photography or film projects.
Most
recently, she wrote, directed, produced and edited a documentary
about Paul Bunyan and his influence on the Bemidji area which
aired on Lakeland Television. Also, She has had photos and
writings published nationally and locally.
