Appalachian Immersion Social Justice/ Environmental Justice Service Learning Retreat
Pre-requisites: semester or more experience on a local service project
Age Requirements: 9-12 grades
Cost: $175
Duration of Service: One week
Description: Work at a variety of agencies, farms- the work consists of a mix of listening and labor; explore the region learning about flat-top mountain removal, interacting with the people of Appalachia
Location: Spencer, West Virginia
Pine Ridge Reservation Cultural Service-Learning Retreat
Pre-requisite: semester or more experience on a local service project
Age Requirements: 9-12
Cost: $175
Duration of Service: one week, during the summer
Decription: Building structures for homes, winterizing homes, building bunkbeds, other misc. manual labor jobs, interacting with the people of Pine Ridge.
Location: Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota
Chicago Urban Immersion Social Justice Service-Learning Retreat
Pre-requisites: semester or more experience on a local service project
Age Requirements: 9-12 grades
Cost: $175
Duration of Service: One week
Description: Work at a variety of agencies: soup kitchens, women’s shelters, men’s shelters, food banks, after-school programs; and a variety of other service agencies
