The TrekNorth Class of 2020 uniquely celebrated their graduation on May 22nd, 2020. These seniors were unable to have the normal pomp and circumstance that classes before they were able to enjoy, but that didn't stop them from celebrating in a big way!
They began the day by watching the graduation program put together by their current and former teachers, administrators, and classmates. In this program words of advice were given, best wishes were offered, and speeches were given by student speakers. The program featured a rap by Andy, a song sung by Talia, and a music video with best wishes from the staff was displayed. Former TrekNorth teachers, Sarah and Steve welcomed the students, families, and friends to these unusual graduation proceedings. Next, Adam and Greg offered words of advice to students, followed by Andy's out of this world rap. Victoria, Allison, and Jake spoke next to express their wishes for their classmates and share their memories from their time spent at TrekNorth. Kristin finished up the program by congratulating the class of 2020. In the final few minutes of the program, Talia could be heard singing "Like an Eagle" written by Carl Stromman, while current TrekNorth staff offered final words of encouragement to the class of 2020.
Later in the day students were lined up with their family and friends to proceed to TrekNorth where they would receive their diplomas. Unlike other years, students didn't walk single file to the stage, instead, they drove single file in a graduation parade which took them from Bemidji State University to the TrekNorth parking lot where staff and more families and friends awaited them to receive their diplomas and become the newest Alumni of TrekNorth Jr. & Sr. High School.
While this graduation was unusual, and maybe not what many had pictured their graduation day being, it will forever be a day that will be remembered! TrekNorth Class of 2020, we are so proud of you! We know bright things lay ahead of you and we can't wait to see what you do in the next chapter of your lives knowing you will bring the traits you learned at TrekNorth with you.
